SUNY Delhi Hot Food Team ACF National Championship - Update

WELCOME TO THE SUNY DELHI HOT FOOD TEAM BLOG - UPDATE

Five students representing ACF Chefs & Cooks of the Catskill Mountains, students from the State University of New York at Delhi, Delhi, N.Y., won the American Culinary Federation, Inc.’s, (ACF) Student Team New York State and Northeast Region Championship, sponsored by R.L. Schreiber, Inc.,


The team is comprised of the following student culinarians: Julie Hernandez, of Delhi; Kenneth Liranzo, of New York; Joseph Michaud, of Gansevoort, N.Y.; Chase Devine of Brackney, PA; and Sarah Thurgood, of Bovina Center, N.Y. The team is coached by Victor Sommo, CEC and James Margiotta.  The team manger is Tom Recinella, CEC, AAC

An advance team consisting of faculty, staff and student helpers departed SUNY Delhi Thursday July 27th in the afternoon with equipment for the team competition. They expect to arrive in Anaheim late
Thursday July 29th. As of 10:00am this morning the advance team has communicated they are in Nebraska and on-time for arrival in Anaheim, CA Thursday July 29th. 

The SUNY DELHI HOT FOOD TEAM will depart from the campus at 2:30am on Friday July 30th and travel to Anaheim, California in preparation for the American Culinary Federation (ACF) National Student Team Championship on Tuesday August 3rd from 9:00am – 2:00pm. The competition is sponsored by R.L. Schreiber, Inc.

The teams competing for this year's ACF Student Team National Championship are:

ACF Central Region Student Team Regional Championship Winner
ACF Louis Joliet Chapter, Joliet Junior College

ACF Northeast Region Student Team Regional Championship Winner
ACF Chefs and Cooks of the Catskill Mountains, State University of New York at Delhi; Team members are: Julie Hernandez, Kenneth Liranzo, Joseph Michaud, Sarah Thurgood and coach Victor Sommo, CSC

ACF Southeast Region Student Team Regional Championship Winner
ACF Chefs of the Low Country, Savannah Technical College

ACF Western Region Student Team Regional Championship Winner
Santa Clara Valley Chefs, Professional Culinary Institute
